Giving Back: The CorTrust Way

Community Banking

One of the great things about working at CorTrust Bank is a culture centered on giving back. We believe in supporting the communities we serve to ensure they continue to thrive for years to come. This is accomplished through donating our time, expertise, financial resources, and caring spirit.

Recently, a few team members from our Woodbury and Brooklyn Park branches were able to put our community-focused approach to action through a program called Give It Forward. Here is how Give It Forward works: for every SBA 504 loan approved by the Small Business Administration in 2017, SPEDCO will make a $500 donation in the banker’s name to his/her choice of one of 37 local economic development organizations. This unique program honors the hard work of local bankers with a gift to an organization that these individuals truly care about, all while strengthening our communities.

Through Give It Forward, Tim Swanson, Barry Sorenson, and Jay Gikas were able to rally together to support the non-profits Lifetrack and Hmong American Partnership. Plus, Jay was able to qualify for two grants this quarter. Better yet, CorTrust was named Bank of the Quarter by SPEDCO for our bankers’ impressive work. Total our team was able to contribute $2,000 to these economic development causes.

Collaborating with organizations like SPEDCO is a great way for CorTrust Bank to tap into community needs and truly make a difference. We are proud to have individuals like Tim, Barry, and Jay at CorTrust who seek out unique ways to exert our giving culture.
