Money-Saving Energy Tips for Every Homeowner

Was one of your New Year resolutions to save money? You're not alone. In fact, according to data pulled from Google by iQuanti, spending less/saving more was searched 15,905,290 times from January to October in 2016. One way you can save in 2018, is by making simple adjustments for a more energy efficient home. Check out our tips:

Utilize Your Blinds + Curtains

All the windows in your home are the largest source of heat, particularly in the summer. Closing your blinds and curtains can help cool your home during warmer months, which can reduce your AC consumption.

Replace Air Filters

Try to replace your HVAC air filters at least every six months. Even better, try replacing every three months. Dirty filters can block airflow and reduce your system's efficiency.

Child Proof Outlets

Even if you don't have children, consider child proofing your outlets. Often the inside outlets located on exterior walls can act as vacuums when it comes to transferring air inside to outside. Plus, electrical outlet boxes typically don't have any insulation behind them. Simply install socket sealers to fix this problem.
