Coyoteopoly a community success!
This spring marks the 12th Coyoteopoly community service project. Coyoteopoly, the brain child of Dr Gregory Huckabee, Professor at the Beacom School of Business at USD, began in 2004 as a fund raiser and food drive for the Vermillion Community food pantry. It is now the largest annual donor to the Vermillion Food pantry.
The Spring 2010 group is pictured here donating over $13,000 to the City of Vermillion for banners and other city beautification items. Jennifer Steele, CorTrust Bank of Vermillion, has been on board as a lender and advisor for the group since its inception. Each semester she reviews their business plan and meets with the executive team. CTB assists the group by providing the upfront money to finance the group’s start up costs. It is a win-win for everyone!
In the 6 years Coyoteopoly has operated, it has raised over $108,000 for charities that interest the local community, and facilitated the donation of over 35,000 food items to the food pantry.
